What Kind Of Chicken Breast Should I Use?
For this recipe, I recommend using thin sliced, boneless, skinless chicken breasts.
What Kind Of Pan Should I Use?
My favorite tool for pan frying and getting a good, crispy sear on meat is a cast iron pan. I have the Lodge cast iron pan in my kitchen.
I also like to use a good quality stainless steel pan, such as this one!
Can I Modify This Recipe To Make It Gluten Free?
Yes, you can absolutely modify this recipe to fit your gluten restrictions! In fact, sometimes I find that the crust using a gluten free substitute can actually turn out even crispier!
For this recipe, I would suggest using a rice flour or an all-purpose gluten-free flour blend.
How To Make Easy Italian Pan Fried Chicken Breast
First, pat your chicken dry using some paper towels. Youβll want to remove as much liquid as you can so that you can make a nice crust on your chicken.
Then, in a large bowl, combine the flour, oregano, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried basil. I put measurements in the recipe card, but you can honestly just eyeball everything as well.
Next, coat your chicken with the flour mixture, making sure you get all the nooks and crannies.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add two to three tablespoons of olive oil. Once the skillet is hot, add your chicken, making sure to shake off any excess flour. Try your best to work in batches and avoiding crowding your pan.
Sear your chicken on both sides for about four to five minutes on each side.
What Pairs Well With Pan Fried Chicken Breast?
I always like to pair my protein with carbs and veggie for a balanced meal. My favorite starches to have with this Italian chicken are pasta or rice. If you want to learn how to cook perfect al dente spaghetti, I wrote a blog post all about it! You can find it here!
For veggies, I usually cook up some broccoli, green beans, or squash! This combination leaves me feeling filled up and satisfied.
How Do You Store Leftovers
You can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for two to three days.
You can also freeze leftovers as well. Just be sure to take it out to thaw the night before you want to eat it!
