Disclaimer: I am in no way, shape, or form sponsored by Sam’s Club. I am just writing this review to help other shoppers before buying.
I am always on the lookout for quick things to keep on hand that I can use for lunch/dinner for my family.
Sam’s Club recently released their Member’s Mark Rotisserie Seasoned Chicken Breast Bites. On the packaging, it says that it’s only here for a limited time, so I wanted to grab them before they were gone!
What Is This Product?
Sam’s Club Rotisserie Chicken Bites are pieces of fully cooked, unbreaded, chicken breast. This product is a heat and serve product, meaning that preparation is quick and easy!
How Are The Chicken Bites Made?
Sam’s Club describes the chicken bites to be “seasoned with a savory rotisserie blend and slow-cooked using the sous vide method for a tender, juicy bite every time”.
How Much Do The Sam’s Club Rotisserie Chicken Bites Cost?
At the Sam’s Club near me, the chicken bites are $13.98. This price could definitely vary by location, so make sure to double check on the app or look at the listed price at your store before purchasing.
How Much Chicken Comes In The Package?
There are two pounds of chicken bites in total. The chicken comes vacuum sealed with juice.
Sam’s Club Rotisserie Chicken Bites Nutrition Facts
One serving (3oz) of chicken bites are 160 calories. There are 6g of fat, 2g of carbs, and 22g of protein. One serving contains 1g of total sugar (0g added sugar) and 410mg of sodium.
How Do You Prepare The Chicken Bites?
The packaging says that there are four different ways you can prepare the chicken bites:
- Air Fryer: Preheat air fryer at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Add half the package and cook for 7-10 minutes, or until the internal temperature of 165 degrees is reached. Remove product from air fryer and let rest 2-3 minutes before serving.
- Stovetop: Remove product from pouch and place in a large saute pan. Cover with a tight fitting lid and cook on medium low heat for 10 minutes or until internal temperature of 165 degrees. Let rest 1-2 minutes before serving.
- Microwave: Place pouch in a microwave-safe dish and puncture the pouch several times. Heat for about 6 minutes, or until internal temperature of 165 degrees is reached. Stir every few minutes to ensure even heating. Remove and let rest 1-2 minutes before serving.
- Oven: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove product from pouch and place in an oven-safe pan and cover. Heat for about 15 minutes, or until internal temperature of 165 degrees is reached. Remove and let rest for 1-2 minutes before serving.
I used the stovetop method, but I think it would have come out better in the air fryer (more on this in my review of the product).
I would NOT recommend using the microwave to cook this product. If you’re REALLY in a pinch it’ll be fine, but with all the juice that the product comes with, I just don’t think it would turn out good. If you’ve ever microwaved chicken, you can kind of envision how it might come out.
What Do The Sam’s Club Chicken Bites Taste Like?
Despite the chicken bites being seasoned mildly, I found the flavor to be very pleasant! The bites were more salty and juicy than the Sam’s Club rotisserie chicken, but the other seasonings/spices were more muted.
While the picture makes the product look kind of crispy, the stove top method didn’t produce a crispy outer layer. I really believe this product could be elevated if it came out slightly crispy! If you have an air fryer, I would recommend using that method instead.
How Else Can The Chicken Bites Be Used?
The packaging says that it would be delicious on sandwiches, wraps, salads, flatbread pizzas, pasta, in tacos, and tossed in bbq sauce.
I think with some manipulation, these chicken bites can actually be quite versatile!
The general flavor of the chicken bites are subtle, so I do think that they can be good in a wrap or salad if they were chopped smaller.
I’m not sure if this product would be good on flatbread pizzas or tacos. For a flatbread pizza, I think I would prefer a crispier product (possibly lightly breaded). For a taco, I think a pulled chicken product would be better.
They didn’t list it, but I actually thought it might be good in a stir fry. Once the liquid is drained out, I would toss it in a sauce (maybe something like Bachan’s) and serve with rice and veggies.
How Should I Store Leftovers?
Leftovers should be stored in an airtight container and eaten within three days.
Would I Recommend It?
I would absolutely recommend this product! For the price point and all the different ways the chicken bites can be used, I think it’s worth trying for yourself!
Conclusion
I hope you enjoyed my product review of Sam’s Club Rotisserie Chicken Bites and found my insight to be helpful. Happy shopping!
