Summary: If you’re looking for a clean, safe and fun space for your toddler to play, definitely check out the Cross City Church Totscape in Euless, TX!
Being that I am currently a SAHM, I find myself needing to fill my children’s days with enriching activities.
I don’t want them to be stuck inside watching television all day, but I also don’t want to be stuck outside at the park just watching them. Especially in Texas where the summers can be brutal.
My friend put me onto the Cross City Church Totscape, and after checking it out, I can definitely say I will be a regular there!
Do You Need To Be A Christian To Play At Cross City Church Totscape?
You are free to just come and play. I am not an actively practicing Christian who goes to church every Sunday. You do not need to be a Christian to play.
That being said, there have been many conversations I’ve had while playing in the Totscape centered around faith. I’ve had people pray for me and discuss scripture with me. Personally, I don’t mind, but I can see how that can make others uncomfortable.
What Age Group Is The Totscape For?
The Totscape is for children ages birth to kindergarten.
For older children, Cross City Church has a separate play area called the Playscape. I haven’t got to explore that side yet because my oldest is only two at the time that I’m writing this article.
Totscape Hours
The Totscape is open from 9-12 and 3-5 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
However, there are exceptions to this, as there have been times we went and the church was closed due to other events. Personally, I think there should be a social media post that gets sent out as a heads up for times like these.
Holidays also impact hours of operation. I would definitely check out their website if you are planning a trip there during the holidays, linked here.
Cost
Cross City Church Totscape is completely free. All you need to do when you walk in is sign the sign in sheet.
Do I Need To Bring Anything?
Socks are required to play in the Totscape. Other than that, you do not have to bring anything else!
Is The Cross City Church Totscape Busy/Crowded?
There have been times where I would take the boys to play centers and no kids were there which wasn’t much fun. There have also been times where kids were piled on top of one another, and it was chaos the entire time.
Generally, the Totscape hasn’t been too crowded. I have went on a day where a Facebook mom group was in attendance, but even then it wasn’t awful.
Parking
This may just be a “me” thing, but I only go to places I feel comfortable parking. If I have to parallel park, I won’t go.
Fortunately, Cross City Church has a really spacious parking lot. This is really great if you’ve got a mom ride!
Other Amenities/Pros At Cross City Church
Story Time
Cross City Church has story time in their library at 10AM. It doesn’t last too long and some of the books/songs are faith based which is why I personally don’t attend, but it could definitely be a perk for somebody!
Cuppa Cafe
Another plus is that there is a Cafe in the church called Cuppa that serves beverages, snacks, and breakfast sandwiches.
I usually go to the Totscape after breakfast so I haven’t gotten a chance to try anything myself but I’ve heard great things!
Any Cons?
If I had to name one con, I would say that sometimes the staff are a little abrupt. They kind of lurk around the area as it gets close to closing time, and round everyone up to close exactly at 12PM.
