Are you searching for some of the best Asian restaurants in Fort Worth? If so, keep reading!
I generally try to avoid going to Dallas unless I have to, which is only when my family is flying in to try new restaurants or if the state fair is in town.
And while Dallas and the areas around there probably have more options, there are still plenty of Asian food to choose from in the Fort Worth area!
Here is my list of the best Asian restaurants in Fort Worth that my family and I visit over and over again!
Dragon House
2640 E Southlake Blvd, Southlake, TX 76092
I am a big fan of Shanghainese food, and Dragon House never disappoints!
Some of my favorite things to order are the pan fried buns, honey walnut shrimp, steamed pork and crabmeat juicy dumplings, braised beef noodle soup, and stir-fried hand pulled noodles.
The staff here are also very friendly. Towards the back of the restaurant is a counter where you can see chefs making the dumplings and noodles by hand. Whenever I bring my son to watch them, they craft him a special shape out of dough for him to play with.
One criticism I have of this restaurant is that the dishes are a little bit pricey for Asian food.
Pro tip: Go early if you are looking to eat here, as the restaurant gets packed pretty quickly and they don’t take reservations. My family usually comes right when it opens for lunch or 5-5:30PM for dinner.
Sushi Soho
1925 Airport Freeway, Bedford, TX 76021
The only way my family can afford to eat sushi is if it is all you can eat. It just doesn’t make economical sense to pay by the roll when we can eat three rolls each…and that is just a conservative estimate.
Sushi Soho is great because it has an all you can eat option, but you can also order off the menu if you aren’t that hungry.
The sushi is very fresh and there are a lot of different rolls you can order. My personal favorites are their dragon roll and burning man roll.
We also love the sushi pieces (sweet shrimp and seared salmon). My son’s favorite is the white tuna tataki sashimi appetizer.
And don’t be turned off by the name-there are still plenty of items you can choose from if you don’t like sushi, such as miso eggplant, teriyaki chicken, stir fried udon, and tempura!
Pro tip: Fountain drinks are included with your meal if you choose the all you can eat option. You can also opt for hot green tea.
Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine
977 Melbourne Road, Hurst, TX 76053
We probably order Thai food more than any other cuisine. It seems that my husband can never get enough pad thai.
Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine is amazing! Their food has a great balance of flavors, and you can customize the spiciness in each dish to your liking.
My favorite dishes to order are the pad see ew with shrimp and red curry. My husband loves the chicken pad thai with extra sauce and tom kha noodle soup.
One thing we would NOT recommend ordering is the chicken satay. We normally love chicken satay, but this restaurant makes the skewers a little bit dry. The peanut sauce, however, is to die for!
Pro tip: This restaurant is located right by North East Mall, so you can walk around and shop while you wait for your food!
Pho One
724 Grapevine Highway, Hurst, TX 76054
Something that surprised me when I first moved here was the large amount of Vietnamese restaurants all over DFW. If you didn’t know, the third most spoken language in Texas is actually Vietnamese!
Pho One is special to me because it offers oxtail pho and ribeye cuts, which are not items that every pho restaurant offers.
In addition to their specialty items, they also have your standard options you can find at Vietnamese restaurants such as banh mis, beef stews, vermicelli bowls and stir frys.
Pro tip: Pho One has an extensive drink menu full of boba teas, coffee and smoothies. My favorite is the avocado smoothie with boba.
Tom’s Asian Bistro
2977 S Precinct Line Road, Fort Worth, TX 76118
Tom’s Asian Bistro is a little mom and pop Chinese take out restaurant. When you go into the restaurant, you’ll most likely see Tom in the back tossing food in his wok while his wife takes your order.
Along with generic dishes such as fried rice and lo mein, Tom’s Asian Bistro also offers a lot of dishes that you may not normally find at a Chinese take out restaurant, such as South Sea Chicken with Lemongrass Rice and Hong Kong Pepper Steak. It’s no wonder this place is consistently featured in lists of the best Asian restaurants in Fort Worth.
Our go to dishes that we order are chicken with eggplant, chicken flat noodle, Tom’s spicy honey wings and the oriental chicken leg.
Pro tip: Have a back up plan if the dish you want is unavailable. Their menu is very limited, but they run out of items frequently.
First Chinese BBQ
5310 E Belknap Street H, Haltom City, TX 76117
Being Cantonese, First Chinese BBQ has all my comfort foods that I grew up with, such as soy sauce chicken and roast duck.
And because it is Cantonese style cooking, you won’t leave the dinner table feeling weighed down because the flavors are all very light.
I get the same dish every time I am there, which is haw fun noodles in soup with soy sauce chicken. I also like the snow pea leaves and clay pots.
Pro tip: This is a cash only business, so make sure you bring enough cash with you when you dine here!
Conclusion
Originally coming from New York, my biggest concern with moving to Texas was finding quality Asian restaurants.
After exploring the area for a few years, I can safely say that there are some great options.
I hope you give some of these restaurants a try!
