Back in college, I would look forward to my weekly walk to Dunkin with my roommates. I don’t know what it was, but Dunkin in Massachusetts tastes different than Dunkin anywhere else.

Surprisingly, Dunkin Donuts actually has a ton of sugar free options to choose from. Whether you’re following a keto diet, have diabetes, or just looking to reduce your sugar intake, you’re sure to find something you like.

Are the flavor shots sugar free?

Yes, the flavor shots at Dunkin are sugar free. For medium sized beverages, flavor shots will add 5-10 calories to your beverage.

What sugar free flavors are available at Dunkin Donuts?

I am going to be completely honest: there is an artificial after taste to the sugar free drinks at Dunkin. You may or may not notice it if you are used to all the sugar substitutes.

In my opinion, I would recommend choosing your flavor shots strategically to minimize the after taste. For example, I really disliked the pairing of raspberry or blueberry with my iced coffee but liked it with my iced tea. I found the flavor shots in my coffee made the overall beverage more bitter, but added a welcome profile to the tea.

Are Dunkin Donuts’ flavor swirls sugar free?

Dunkin refers to their syrups as flavor swirls. While the flavor shots are sugar free, the flavor swirls are not. For a medium beverage, flavor swirls will add 150-160 calories.

With the exception of mocha, all flavor swirls contain dairy.

What drinks can be made sugar free at Dunkin Donuts?

Coffee (hot or iced), cold brews, Americanos, and teas (hot or iced) are all drinks that can be easily modified to be sugar free.

Drinks that contain milk, such as lattes, cappuccinos and macchiatos can be altered in a way that reduces the overall sugar amount but won’t be completely sugar free.

What milk should I get with my sugar free drink at Dunkin?

Dunkin offers cream, whole milk, skim milk, almond milk, and oat milk as potential options for your beverage. Depending on where you are located, your Dunkin can also have coconut milk available.

If your Dunkin has coconut milk as an option, I would recommend choosing it. Dunkin uses Silk Unsweetened Coconut Milk, which has 40 calories and 0g of sugar per 8oz serving.

If coconut milk is not an option for you, I would recommend the oat milk. Dunkin carries Planet Oat Extra Creamy Oat Milk and Almond Breeze Vanilla Almond Milk. While the oat milk does have more calories, the amount of sugar per 8oz is less than the almond milk.

What sugar substitutes does Dunkin have?

The drinks that can not be made sugar free are the matcha drinks, cold foams, refreshers, hot chocolate, and frozen beverages like their Coolattas.

Iced teas that Dunkin offers includes black or green.

In the app, the teas are defaulted to unsweetened. However, I have had instances in person where my teas came sweetened. To be safe, if you are not ordering through the app, I would specify to your barista that you want your drink unsweetened.

Does Dunkin matcha have sugar?

Yes, the matcha at Dunkin Donuts has sugar. Just like the matcha from Starbucks, the matcha from Dunkin also comes pre-sweetened.

Is the chai sugar free?

No, the chai is not sugar free because the chai syrup contains sugar. In the app, chai syrup is automatically checked off, indicating that this can not be modified.

Is the lemonade sugar free?

Lemonade at Dunkin is seasonal and used in combination with their Refresher beverage line which is not sugar free.

In the past, I have ordered the lemonade by itself and I do not recommend it. While I am unsure if it has sugar or not, I do remember it tasting very bitter and sour. Almost like lemon water left out overnight.

Are the refreshers sugar free?

The refreshers are not sugar free because they are made with a pre-sweetened base.

Does the hot chocolate at Dunkin have sugar?

Yes, the hot chocolate mix at Dunkin Donuts has sugar. Therefore, you can not make the hot chocolate sugar free.

Are the frozen coffees/Coolattas sugar free?

Dunkin uses Oasis machines to make their frozen coffees. The Oasis machine dispenses sugar depending on the drink selected so their frozen coffee normally contains sugar.

I did read online that there is an option on the machine to not add sugar. I’m wondering if it is possible to just get a coffee blended with ice, a flavor shot, and milk of choice. Unfortunately, I have not personally tried this myself yet!

Are there any food options for diabetics at Dunkin Donuts?

There are egg bites at Dunkin that are 7g of carbs and come in two flavors: bacon and cheddar and egg white and veggie. However, I am personally not a fan of these egg bites, and find Starbucks’ egg bites to be so much better.

You can also get the Egg & Cheese Wake-Up Wrap, which has 14g of carbs. If you choose to add a protein (bacon, sausage, or turkey sausage), the wrap will have 15g of carbs.

Does Dunkin Donuts make a sugar free creamer?

Instacart has a sugar free coffee creamer called “Dunkin Donuts Unsweetened Coffee Creamer”. But, I have never seen this product in stores. It also isn’t on Dunkin’s website.

According to the Dunkincreamer.com, the coffee creamer flavors that Dunkin sells (at the time this article is published) is Extra Extra, French Vanilla and new flavors Salted Caramel and Brownie Batter.
